FUMC Children

Join us July 19th-23rd at High Seas Expedition, where kids will explore the Mighty Love of God on a journey that will change them forever!  High Seas Expedition is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste!  Bible Point crafts, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the high Seas Expeditions activities that help faith flow into real life.  So save these dates and register your child today!  There is an online registration( see link on this page) or there are forms at the church.  If possible, a $5 donation per child would be appreciated to help with the cost of VBS.  Each day your child will make a craft, play games and enjoy a snack, experince a Bible story, enjoy great music and visit Chadder.  They will also receive a T-shirt at the end of the week!!   We will have a celebration dinner on Friday, July 21st at 5:30 and a program at 6:30.  We are also needing parent volunteer and youth helpers, so let me know if you would like to help with VBS!  VBS music CD’s are available for purchase for $12.

The children’s Dept Promotion Sunday will be on May 23rd at 10:50.  Children that will be attending a new Sunday School class next fall will receive a certificate.  We will also be presenting children going into 2nd grade a Bible from our church.  We will also be recognizing our Sunday School teachers at this time.  This is only the last Sunday for the Uhlig’s.  There will be a special children’s moment, and also a special Children’s Church for Rachel and Blake.  At noon there will be a dinner for Ted, Michele, Blake and Rachel.  I hope that you will plan to attend this special day.

The children’s Dept will be attending the following camps-  Registration for these camps are due May 9th.  There are camp forms in the narthex.  Also, remember that we can go to others camps so if these dates do not work for you and you want your child to attend a different camp, please let me know. 

For children entering 1st-2nd grade-

Sonshine Camp at Egan- July 24-25th.  We have a female and male shephard attending.

For children entering 3rd-5th grade

Joy Camp- June 25-27th at Egan

Growin’ In Grace Camp- July 23-25th at Cross Point

There will be a short parent planning meeting after the potluck luncheon on Sunday March 7th.  We will be taking about Palm Sunday, Camp Dates and VBS.  Please plan on attending and we will have the bounce house out for the kids to play on.

There will be an acolyte training class at 2:00 pm on Sunday February 21st.  This class is for anyone in grades 1st – 5th.  We will be taking pictures for the bulletin board in the narthex at the time also.

We will have an Extreme Worship service on Jan. 31st at 5:00. Thus the Puma will be back so we hope you will join us for a great evening. The youth are planning a drama!

I will be working on a new acolyte schedule soon. If you have a child in 1st grade-5th grade that would like to be added to the schedule please let me know. I will be glad to have a training class in February if needed.
